Tolède is a town of 70000 inhabitants having a great monumental richness.That is explained in particular by the fact that Christians, Arabs and Jews lived together in this city during centuries, and for this reason Tolede is called the “city with the three cultures”. By visiting the city, you will be able to visit churches, mosques and synagogues. It is this cultural/artistical mixture which gives to the town of Tolède all its beauty. Also the fact that the city was extremely indeed preserved, the Spanish knew how to maintain the charm of this city. And of course, Tolede belongs to the world inheritance.

How to get there?

From Madrid, you can easily going there by by train from the station "sur" or "Atocha";the duration of the trip is approximately 30 minBy car, if you come from Madrid, take the direction of N-4101 or N-403 since Castille and Leon.

Casa Museo de el greco:The museum was created in 1911 by the marquis of last Vega-Inclán.He took the iniciative to recover works of the painter which at the time were dispersed a little everywhere in the city.

Museo de Santa Cruz :The building is from the XVth century, beginning of XVIth, the museum is divided into several departments: department of archaeology, fine arts department and decorative arts department. Among its tables (of XVe at the XVIIIe century), we can admire those of Greco and of its disciple, Luis Tristán.

cathedral of ToledoThe cathedral of Toledo was built in the XIIIth century on the basis of the old mosque. The church includes five naves, measures 120 meters length and 59 broad. The roof is supported by 88 columns. The Santiago vault, of the XVth century, has a Gothic style. The coro is regarded as the most imposing of the Christendom. The grid which limits it, is from Domingo de Céspedes.

Alcazar of Toledo: The alcazar is from the XVIth century and it is the current Seat of the Museum of the Armies of the city. The monument dates from the Roman time. Unfortunately, only the outside of the monument can be visited, but the architecture is amazing.
